Our heavy-duty core barrels feature our patented flat, conical teeth that are mounted inside a solid core ring, minimizing the risk of break off. For use in 12,000-14,000 psi rock equivalent to Sierra Nevada granites, the patented teeth have a convex front face and relief rake angles that vary along the perimeter of the cutting edge. This barrel requires heavy amounts of crowd so the operator hears chattering, not grinding.
We make our high strength core barrels with precision for you to core aligned holes in the most challenging rock conditions. Our popular SM02 and other conical teeth like the DS05 tooth pattern is the go to for drilling in hard rock 8,000-10,000 psi.
However we do offer J tooth options for 3,000-4,000 psi rock
We also offer roller bit core barrels used to crush rock above 20,000 psi. These core barrels require heavy crowd to destroy the rock into powder.
